Manchester City step up chase for Lamela

Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned that Manchester City are preparing a fresh assault on Roma star Erik Lamela.

The squad at Etihad are likely to undergo major changes in the summer after a hugely disappointing season.

The Citizens chiefs are prepared to splash the cash in the summer and the latest reports suggest they are set to make a move on Roma’s Erik Lamela.

Manchester City scouts will be at San Siro tonight to watch the Argentine in action against Milan, with a view of submitting a €30 million offer for the player’s services.

Roma officials are unlikely to be too keen on selling one of their star players so it would take a substantial offer for the Citizens to lure Lamela to Etihad.

The 21-year-old joined the Giallorossi in a €15 million deal from River Plate two years back and has since managed 19 goals in 60 Serie A matches.
